Job Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and project management, with the ability to analyze project specifications and develop accurate cost estimates. This role requires proficiency in various estimating software and tools, as well as excellent negotiation skills to ensure competitive pricing. The Estimator will play a crucial role in supporting our construction projects from inception to completion.


Responsibilities:

  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documents to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Utilize software/programs such as Bluebeam, Accubid, Procore, Building Connected
  • Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate pricing.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and gather data for estimating purposes.
  • Negotiate prices with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible rates for materials and services.
  • Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that clearly outline project costs, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project budgets throughout the construction process, making adjustments as necessary based on changes in scope or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Maintain organized records of estimates, bids, and contracts for future reference.
  • Participate in weekly project management meetings and contribute to overall schedule planning
  • Use good judgement to assist in deciding which projects to bid
  • Work closely with executive leadership to assist in contract negotiations and participate in pre-construction and vetting meetings.


Skills:

  • Proficiency in construction estimating software.
  • Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and components
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost estimation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills to convey complex information clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in project management within the construction industry is highly desirable.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors and owners.
