SJLD (Scalco Johnson Leahy & Dudek, CPAs LLC) is a small CPA firm located in Southwest Austin. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our Bookkeeping Department team. This is a full-time position that offers health benefits, PTO, bonus compensation and more.
As a bookkeeper, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial record keeping and reporting for multiple clients. You should be a self-starter and be able to work independently. The ideal candidate will be highly organized and able to thrive in a sometimes fast-paced, demanding work environment. The ability to communicate complex data in a clear way and the ability to meet deadlines is needed for this position.
Responsibilities:
Mange the assigned clients for the month end bookkeeping tasks to include reconciliation of bank statements, credit cards, loans, lines of credit and payroll liabilities.
The ability to prioritize the needs of the clients, while providing professional and exceptional bookkeeping services.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date reports, financial records and organized files for each client.
Prepare and analyze balance sheets, P&L income statements and account transaction reports to identify and resolve discrepancies or variances.
Collaborate with internal teams to support and assist with new projects.
Stay up to date with regulatory changes and ensure compliance with accounting principles and industry standards.
Superior customer service and communication skills are a must.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
3+ years of full cycle bookkeeping experience, with the utilization of QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop and/or Xero Accounting Software.
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or Business-related field desired, but not required.
Fluency with QuickBooks tools, including bank feeds, banking rules, and bank reconciliations with a focus on streamlining the process efficiently for the assigned clients.
Knowledge of payroll reports pulled from Gusto, Paychex and/or ADP.
The ability to effectively problem solve and troubleshoot in QuickBooks and other similar accounting software programs.
A solid understanding of the processes for AP, AR, intercompany accounts, invoicing management, BS, P&L, cash flows, chart of accounts, financial reports, GL, sales tax reporting, payroll processing, payroll taxes and liabilities. General understanding of tax filing needs of the small business owner.
Proficiency with technology and software programs including QuickBooks, Adobe, Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, Power Point) and more. Willingness to learn new programs and technologies quickly.
An active QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification is preferred but not required.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
