Hourly Summary Description Job functions are related to pulling and restocking product for shipping as well as sorting and systematic handling of product. Operates a Side Loader or other equipment to move product in the warehouse. Follows establishing safety standards and procedures for Side Loader operation and use Essential Duties Operate Side Loader, forklift or other equipment Transport finished goods to designated areas using FIFO method Examine products for damage and verify counts for accuracy Load and unload product manually Stack products to/from pallets for shipping Follows established safety procedures Keep assigned work area neat and orderly Work efficiently and effectively as a team member of the manufacturing plant Essential Job Skills and Experience Education/experience: High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 1 year forklift experience required Valid Driver’s License Required Skills/Knowledge Required: Must be proficient with forklift operation. Must be able to learn to operate and be certified by NWD to operate appropriate equipment. Awareness of safety and official procedures for operating forklift and handling products Strong oral and written communication skills Able to stand for extended periods of time (8-to-12-hour days) Good hand-eye coordination Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and more than 50 lbs. using a team-lift Physical
Environment/Working
Conditions: This position involves standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. It requires grasping and fine finger manipulation on both hands. The position requires stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. It requires grasping and fine manipulation on both hands. The plant is not climate controlled. Noise levels can become high. NWD provides and requires hearing protection in the department. The work is done in an area where moving mechanical machinery, parts or vibration are located. Specific vision requirements: This position requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
