Key responsibilities: Safely operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. Transport goods and materials to designated locations on a nightly schedule. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure roadworthiness and safety. Maintain accurate records of hours of service, mileage, and delivery logs. Load and unload cargo as required, ensuring it is secured and balanced properly. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding route updates and delivery status. Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety and operational standards. Manage time efficiently to meet scheduled delivery times and minimize downtime. Handle vehicle issues promptly and report maintenance needs to the appropriate department. Ensure the cleanliness and proper upkeep of the truck's interior and exterior. Follow all safety protocols and wear required protective equipment during loading and unloading operations. Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients and customers during deliveries. Requirements
Job Requirements:
Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A Minimum of 2 years of CDL A driving experience Clean driving record with no major violations Ability to operate manual and automatic transmission trucks Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends Strong communication skills for interaction with dispatch and clients Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred education:
High school diploma; Higher degree from a technical school will be preferred.
Work Environment:
Work is generally performed in a warehouse environment. The noise level is moderate. Generally, well ventilated, and well lit. Warehouse team members may be required to wear protective
clothing. Additionally, may operate heavy equipment and strict safety regulations may be required.
Physical Effort:
Work is physically strenuous, and team members are required to lift heavy packages up to 50 pounds. Work may require excessive bending or stooping. Team members may be required to climb ladders, use hand tools, and/or use heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, etc.). The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Light duty options may be available.
