Load builders are primarily responsible for the safe and accurate loading of truss packages and post frame building packages in accordance with the delivery pick list. A load builder will also serve as a 2nd and/or back up Class-A delivery driver.
Key Responsibilities: Load Builder
Read and understand material pick lists. Safely, accurately and efficiently build material loads based off pick lists and scheduled delivery dates. Safely load trailers with finished goods in preparation for delivery. Operate forklifts for disposition of materials. Operate commercial motor vehicles. Unload vendor freight deliveries, verifying accuracy of Bill of Ladings compared to purchase orders. Dispose of received goods in an organized fashion in accordance with branch and company standards. Assist with additional yard and truss production requirements as needed. Key Responsibilities: CDL- A Delivery Driver
Verify customer delivery packets (load list) including Truss/EWP, truss/joist hangers, truss screws and other various components that make up the entirety of a sales order. Work alongside yard personnel to safely load and secure component packages to delivery trailers, conforming to DOT regulations and company standards. Communicate with customers on delivery time frames and delivery locations. Safely and efficiently operate commercial motor vehicle fleet which includes oversized loads as well as specialized truss/EWP delivery trailers. Safely and efficiently deliver component packages to customer job sites. Utilize Point of Sale software to upload delivery pictures, special notes, customer signatures as well as updating delivery statuses. Maintain accurate driver log books and safety requirements. Maintain good communications with branch manager pertaining to fleet/DOT issues, delivery issues and DOT paperwork filings. Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of fleet vehicles under DOT regulations and company standards. Desired Skills, Knowledge, and Qualifications:
High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or Associates Degree required. Valid Class-A commercial drivers license. Valid medical card. Previous CDL-A experience (preferred but not required) Previous oversize load handling and delivery (preferred but not required) Capable of learning industry and supplier software applications.
