*PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION WILL ALLOW CONSULTANT TO WORK REMOTELY. HOWEVER, DUTIES WILL OCCASSIONALLY NECESSITATE CONSULTANT TO WORK ONSITE. THEREFORE, WILL BE CRITICAL FOR THE CONSULTANT TO BE LOCAL TO NYC AND ABLE TO TRAVEL TO OUR OFFICE WITHOUT ISSUE, AS NEEDED (AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE ).

Job Title: Oracle Apex Developer

We are seeking a highly skilled Oracle Apex Developer with expertise in PL/SQL, Power BI, BI Publisher, and GitHub version control to modernize our legacy application currently built on Oracle Forms, Oracle Reports, and PL/SQL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for migrating and enhancing our application using Oracle Apex, integrating modern reporting tools, and ensuring seamless data management.

Key Responsibilities :

Application Modernization: Migrate existing Oracle Forms and Reports applications to Oracle Apex while maintaining functionality and improving performance.

Oracle Apex Development: Design, develop, and implement robust, scalable, and secure applications using Oracle Application Express (Apex).

Database Development: Write, optimize, and maintain complex PL/SQL procedures, packages, triggers, and views.

Reporting & Analytics: Develop interactive reports and dashboards using Apex, Power BI and BI Publisher to improve data visualization and decision-making.

Integration & Performance Optimization: Ensure seamless integration of Apex applications with Oracle databases and optimize database performance, as well as integration with current Oracle Forms application until modernization is completed.

Version Control & Deployment: Implement best practices for version control (GitHub or similar) and CI/CD pipelines to manage Apex applications.

Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and other IT teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions aligned with business goals.

Training & Documentation: Provide knowledge transfer, training, and technical documentation to ensure smooth transition and adoption of modernized applications.

Required Qualifications & Skills :

5+ years of experience in Oracle application development, including Apex and PL/SQL.

Strong expertise in Oracle Apex 22.x or later, including Dynamic Actions, RESTful Web Services, and Interactive Reports.

Proficiency in PL/SQL development, including performance tuning and optimization.

Experience with Power BI and BI Publisher for data visualization and reporting.

Hands-on experience in migrating legacy Oracle Forms and Reports applications to modern platforms.

Knowledge of Oracle Database (12c/19c), SQL, and relational database design.

Familiarity with APIs, RESTful web services, and JSON/XML processing in Oracle Apex.

Understanding of security best practices in Apex development, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.

Experience with source control tools, including GitHub, Git, and/or Azure DevOps.

Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong experience in Oracle PL/SQL.

Familiarity with Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports.

Strong development experience in Oracle Apex.

Experience in cloud-based deployment (Oracle Cloud, AWS, or Azure).

Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for Apex UI customization.

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration for Apex.

Additional Skills and Information:

Oracle PL/SQL, Oracle Forms 12c, Oracle Reports 12c, Experience with RESTful web services Strong expertise in Oracle Apex 22.x or later, including Dynamic Actions, RESTful Web Services, and Interactive Reports. Proficiency in PL/SQL development, including performance tuning and optimization. Experience with Power BI and BI Publisher for data visualization and reporting.
