$21.00 - $26.39 hourly, plus $1.75 per hour Shift Differential Premium for hours worked between 6pm-6am Status

Under the supervision of the school-based Program Supervisor, the OUT Program Specialist focuses on supporting LGBTQ+ youth through direct engagement in school-based clubs, leading youth leadership initiatives, and coordinating events like the Power in Prevention Summit. The position supports coalition efforts to address substance use and mental health, assists with outreach and training, manages program data and documentation, fulfills grant requirements, and maintains digital communications platforms.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Youth Engagement and Support Provide direct support to LGBTQ+ students through school-based clubs such as GSAs Lead and build capacity for the Youth Leadership Team Engage LGBTQ+ students at school sites to promote connection and empowerment Program and Event Coordination Support coalition meetings and initiatives, including logistics and promotion Assist in planning and executing the Power in Prevention Summit Respond to program needs by identifying and vetting outreach opportunities Community Collaboration Collaborate with the OUT Coalition to address issues affecting LGBTQ+ youth, including substance use and mental health Attend bi-monthly coalition meetings and contribute to shared goals Support staff in delivering LGBTQ competency trainings Data and Reporting Collect, organize, and maintain reports, records, and documentation Ensure school staff enter data accurately and on time Track local data related to LGBTQ youth and substance use Communications and Outreach Fulfill grant-related deliverables such as social norm campaigns and environmental scans at LGBTQ-sponsored events Maintain the CAN web page and manage social media platforms

Qualifications General office and/or clerical experience including reception, telephone, scheduling etc. Demonstrated experience facilitating and organizing groups Experience in a school setting, working with middle and high school students Self-motivated, energetic, flexible, and able to work as part of a team Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a high level of attention to detail Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and other software systems Access to reliable transportation and the ability to be insured Knowledge about substance misuse and prevention strategies a plus
