Job Summary

We are seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to support Epiq's continued growth by executing cybersecurity initiatives that ensure compliance, resilience, and operational security across our engineering and manufacturing environments. This position will combine hands-on infrastructure security with the implementation of risk-based controls that align with CMMC, NIST, and other defense-focused compliance frameworks.

You will help drive a proactive security posture across our platforms, improve threat visibility and detection, and operationalize our security toolsets in a fast-paced, mission-driven organization.

Job Responsibilities

Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls aligned with NIST SP 800-171, CMMC Level 2+, and ITAR requirements Develop and enforce security hardening standards for infrastructure, cloud services, and endpoint systems Administer and optimize SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, Elastic, Sentinel) to enhance visibility, threat correlation, and incident response Create and maintain actionable SIEM content: correlation rules, dashboards, reports, threat intelligence integrations, and alert tuning Onboard and normalize log/data sources to enable detection across diverse environments (on-prem, cloud, production systems) Support compliance audits, vulnerability remediation, and continuous monitoring requirements for federal programs Collaborate with IT, Engineering, and Compliance teams to implement technical controls supporting DFARS and CUI data protection Stay current on emerging security threats, tools, and tactics relevant to the defense and RF product landscape Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, and business continuity initiatives Provide guidance to cross-functional teams on secure design and secure operations best practices Requirements

Required

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, security operations, or infrastructure security Strong knowledge of modern SIEM platforms and experience with content creation, health monitoring, and system optimization Familiarity with CMMC, NIST 800-171, ISO 27001/9001, ITAR, and DFARS security requirements Hands-on experience with securing AWS, Azure, and/or hybrid cloud environments Proficiency with operating systems, endpoint security controls, firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanning tools, and authentication systems Strong understanding of threat vectors, common exploits, and security mitigations Scripting or automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) a plus Ability to operate independently and collaboratively in a highly regulated, multi-disciplinary environment Strong communication and documentation skills, especially when interfacing with auditors, engineers, and non-technical stakeholders U.S. citizenship required to ensure compliance with federal regulations governing the handling of Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) and export-controlled data (e.g., ITAR, EAR).
