Production Planner / Scheduler

Position Summary
The primary responsibility of this position is to plan and prepare production schedules and conduct long-term capacity planning for manufacture of intermediate, semi-finished and finished products. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop production schedules in order to meet productivity, cost efficiency targets, and inventory goals. Responsible for the continuous improvement and accuracy of the MRP System for production items. Coordinates updates to SAP Master Data which includes materials, resources, etc. Adjust MRP planning parameters for raw materials, finished products and intermediates as needed. Prioritize all customer orders. Coordinate and fully cooperate with Production Supervisor, Sales, Customer Service, Material Control, and others. Conduct analysis of production forecast to maintain stock levels based on replenish to order inventory plan and customer consignment material. Create and maintain reporting summarizing capacity and service level and any other key performance indicators. Operate in accordance an in full compliance with all applicable ISO standards and procedures. Responsible for prioritization, accuracy and adhering to quality and safety standards. Act as a back-up to the Warehouse Supervisor / Material Control Coordinator. Other duties as assigned. Education & Experience
A bachelor's degree in Supply Chain or related field and five years of production planning experience with a working knowledge of demand flow concepts is required. The equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Must have the ability to prioritize effectively and must be detail oriented. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems such as SAP is required. APICS certification is preferred. Physical Demands
Regularly required to reach with hands and arms and talk and hear. Required to use mouse and keyboard. Frequently required to sit and occasionally stand and walk. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts as well as hazardous materials/chemicals. Required to wear specialized protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, or breathing apparatus.
