About the Opportunity:
This full-time, on-site role in Carol Stream, IL is with a trusted employer in the industrial automation space. As an Electrical Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing and programming controls for specialized equipment, supporting the build process, and ensuring systems run reliably and efficiently. You'll collaborate with a close-knit engineering team and have direct impact on customer satisfaction and system performance.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and program electrical control systems for industrial machinery

Program PLCs, HMIs, and PC-based systems (Rockwell Studio 5000; B&R experience is a plus)

Create electrical schematics, layouts, and BOMs using CAD software (EPLAN P8 )

Support workshop testing, troubleshooting, and FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing)
n n - n
Ensure designs align with safety and electrical standards (NEC, NFPA, ANSI)

Work closely with mechanical engineers, purchasing, and global engineering teams
n n - n
Maintain accurate project documentation throughout the process

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

3–5 years of experience in industrial machinery or automation controls design

Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming and controls hardware
n n - n
Strong knowledge of electrical schematics and CAD (EPLAN P8 )

Understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics is helpful

Experience with QAD, SmarTeam, or PLM systems a plus
n n - n
Strong communication and documentation skills

French fluency is a bonus but not required
