We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Inspector
Lead to ensure compliance with strict quality standards for materials, parts, and finished products. This role involves performing inspections, tests, and audits using advanced metrology tools, while also providing training and oversight to inspectors. The Quality Inspector
Lead will play a key role in maintaining AS9100 and Nadcap standards, ensuring customer requirements are met, and supporting continuous improvement in manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities: Perform inspections, checks, tests, and sampling procedures on materials, parts, subassemblies, and finished products. Review Device History Records (DHR) for release of finished goods and compliance with Good Documentation Practices. Conduct complete layout inspections using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, optical comparators, CMM, etc.). Measure dimensions, angles, arcs, and radii using precision aids (gauge blocks, sine bars, height gauges, etc.). Verify quality at Incoming, In-Process, and Outgoing stages. Visually inspect parts for variations and compliance with customer standards. Maintain detailed inspection records, defect logs, and audit documentation. Support corrective and preventive actions by reporting findings to the Quality Control Manager. Oversee calibration of test equipment and monitoring of critical instruments. Conduct and document process and system audits in accordance with established standards. Assist in the creation and revision of SOPs, inspection protocols, and checklists. Train and mentor Quality Inspectors and production staff on proper inspection methods. Support Quality Manager in integrating customer quality requirements into job travelers and ERP work orders. Assist with Nadcap implementation and sustainment of AS9100 certification. Continuously research and recommend new metrology methods to improve measurement accuracy. Qualifications: Education & Training: High school diploma required; some college preferred. ISO 9000 and/or AS9100 training preferred. Experience: Minimum of 2 years working within an ISO 9001 or AS9100D Quality Management System. Previous experience with inspection and metrology in a manufacturing environment. Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Skilled in blueprint reading and interpretation. Hands-on experience with measurement tools: calipers, micrometers, bore micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs. Strong documentation, auditing, and record-keeping skills. Ability to train and mentor others in inspection procedures. Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance. Active Security Clearance preferred. Why Join Us?
