We are seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team in Port Richey, Florida. The ideal candidate should possess proficiency in phlebotomy, EKG procedures, and have a strong background in Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Preferable primary care experience is highly desirable. The role involves providing support to healthcare professionals, ensuring efficient patient care, and maintaining accurate medical records. Requirements: Certified/Registered Medical Assistant preferred, with phlebotomy and EKG certifications a plus. 2 years of Medical Assisting Experience Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems. Previous experience in primary care is preferable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height. * Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician. * Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies. * Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients. * Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing. * Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician. * Set up medical laboratory equipment. * Schedule appointments for patients. * Change dressings on wounds. * Greet and log in patients arriving at office or clinic.
