Material Handler
The Material Handler I position is an entry-level role essential in supporting production and inventory operations. The role involves a variety of tasks including pulling and issuing materials based on job pick tickets, delivering materials to maintain production schedules, processing material returns, and troubleshooting material-related issues. The position also involves performing physical receiving and check-in, stocking materials in bin locations, kitting production orders, conducting cycle counts, and packing/crating for outside processing, spare parts, or finished goods. This role is vital to achieving daily, weekly, and monthly production and inventory goals while supporting inventory accuracy and participating in physical inventory counts. Responsibilities
Kit production orders according to pick tickets and package finished goods in preparation for production or shipment, ensuring proper identification when required. Physically check in and verify incoming materials against inventory records to confirm correct quantities, part numbers, and accuracy before stocking in designated locations. Move materials and finished goods as needed to support picking, delivery to end users, receiving to bin locations, or shipments to external customers for production support. Build and maintain effective communication with departments such as Quality, Purchasing, Production, and Manufacturing to ensure smooth daily operations. Immediately report any non-conforming equipment, materials, or sub-assemblies and properly identify and segregate non-conforming parts to prevent use. Inform the Material Lead if parts are missing or not located in their assigned bin. Perform a full range of material handling duties, including issuing, transferring, and moving materials. Conduct inventory cycle counts as needed and serve as a backup for inventory control activities. Essential Skills
High School Diploma or equivalent. Able to pass forklift certification. Able to pass manlift / cherry picker certification. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to stand for long periods. Computer skills required with knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel. Organizational and time management skills. Ability to cross-train in other areas is required. Ability to speak, read, and write in English. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and follow directions. Possibility for required overtime to meet customer shipping deadlines. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Epicor ERP/MRP knowledge is desirable. 1-year recent receiving, inventory control, or warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment (Preferred). ISO 9001:2015 Standard knowledge desirable. Why Work Here?
