Systems Project Analyst

This internal advertisement is for a Career Service position located within region 3 in the Office of Information Technology. The mission of the Office of Information Technology at the Florida Department of Corrections is to provide innovative and reliable technology solutions that support the department's operations and enhance public safety. This includes managing and maintaining the department's IT infrastructure, ensuring data security, and delivering efficient and effective technology services. The office aims to improve operational efficiency, support decision-making through data analytics, and facilitate communication and collaboration within the department. Through these efforts, the Office of Information Technology strives to contribute to the overall mission of the department in maintaining public safety and promoting successful offender rehabilitation. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves. Job Duties: Take charge of installing, supporting, and managing the SMS-Systems Management server. Keep system backups up to date, automate software installs, and maintain an inventory of hardware and software. Develop and document standards for using, controlling, updating, and maintaining the SMS server. Analyze hardware performance, upgrade system software, and ensure antivirus software is always current. Provide top-notch technical computer systems support across various locations. Get involved in analyzing, developing, designing, and implementing distributed systems, local area networks (LAN), and data communications connectivity. Create system plans that include monitoring network usage and storage capacity. Submit reports with recommendations to boost network performance and reliability and set priorities for system development. Install and configure network servers, personal computers, and peripherals. Offer specialized technical help to resolve complex computer systems and data communication issues and provide user training as needed. Benefits: Paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
