Production Worker
As a Production Worker, you will be responsible for working in the foundry and other shop areas, responsible for removing castings from molds using appropriate tools and machinery, performing finishing operations such as grinding, sanding, and polishing to meet product specifications. You will also engage in manual tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials, and operate tools or machinery involved in casting products including furnaces, molds, and ladles. Your role will involve proactively addressing quality issues and ensuring jobs are completed efficiently, aligning with quoted hours and material estimates. Responsibilities
Remove castings from molds using appropriate tools and machinery. Perform finishing operations such as grinding, sanding, and polishing to meet product specifications. Engage in manual tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and moving materials. Operate tools or machinery involved in casting products including furnaces, molds, and ladles. Understand and proactively address quality issues as they arise. Ensure jobs are completed efficiently, aligning with quoted hours and material estimates. Complete jobs on schedule, providing timely updates on delivery status or delays to the Project Manager and Lead. Advise the Lead of any issues. Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and tasks assigned by management and the team lead. Comply with the rules and guidelines outlined in the Pattern Work Instruction SOPs. Ensure a clean and safe workplace. Participate in mandatory cross-training with mold building and other relevant jobs. Work in a safe manner. Essential Skills
Competency and proficiency with tools and processes used in foundry operations. Experience with hand tools, pouring, melt deck, polishing, grinding, power tools, plasma cutter, molds, sanding, and heavy lifting. Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to multi-task and cross-train on multiple duties within the group or as needed elsewhere. Team player and self-motivated worker. Preference given to candidates with experience in sand cast & mold assembly, mold prep and maintenance, painting in sand cast industry, automotive or air-powered booth painting, carpentry, hand & power tools, and blueprint reading.
