Mechanic
We are a service and repair shop seeking a skilled mechanic to work on vacuum trucks, focusing on the equipment rather than the diesel truck itself. The role involves servicing and repairing truck-mounted vacuum equipment, both in the shop and occasionally in the field, under the guidance of the Service Manager. Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems. Effectively read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics. Perform all scheduled PM inspections of chassis, vacuum body, hydraulic, electrical, air, and water systems. Conduct repairs within DOT or OEM standards to return rental equipment to 'Ready to Rent' status. Perform and document inspections of fleet equipment. Maintain and organize shop and storage areas, ensuring proper storage of flammable items. Essential Skills
3-5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic with an associate's degree, or 5+ years of experience without an associate's degree. Experience in maintenance, repair, and diagnosis of heavy equipment such as cranes, forklifts, bulldozers, or garbage trucks. Solid understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data, drawings, and schematics. Own tools required for the job. Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED. Experience with truck-mounted vacuum equipment is preferred. Ability to administer DOT inspections. Why Work Here?

Work in a small, non-climate-controlled shop as part of a team of 4 mechanics, 2 helpers, and 1 supervisor.
