Job Description:

Morris School District 54 is seeking an experienced and motivated Food Service Director to oversee all aspects of the district's school nutrition program. The Food Service Director will be responsible for administering and processing financial assistance applications and benefits, ensuring strict confidentiality and compliance with all applicable regulations and privacy standards. This position is responsible for ensuring that students receive nutritious, appealing meals in compliance with state and federal guidelines, while managing operations in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Food Service Management, Nutrition, or related field preferred Minimum of 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in food service, including supervisory responsibilities (school nutrition program experience preferred) Knowledge of USDA meal patterns, reporting requirements, and Illinois State Board of Education nutrition program guidelines Ability to work effectively with students and staff Strong communication and teamwork skills Dependable, punctual, and able to follow directions Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage budgets and multiple sites effectively Valid Driver's License Responsibilities:

Plan, organize, and direct the district's food service program, including menu development, purchasing, and inventory control Ensure compliance with all USDA, state, and local health and nutrition regulations Supervise, train, and evaluate food service staff across the district Manage departmental budget and maintain accurate financial records Coordinate food preparation and delivery to multiple school sites as applicable Work collaboratively with administrators, staff, and vendors to support student health and wellness initiatives Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and customer service in all cafeterias Oversee kitchen equipment care, repair, and replacement as needed Perform other duties as directed by the Superintendent Benefits and Compensation:

$23-$26 per hour based on experience 200 day position Eligible for the district's benefits package
