Central Records. The mission of Classification Management at the Florida Department of Corrections is to accurately assess and classify inmates to ensure their appropriate placement within the correctional system. This involves evaluating inmates' security levels, needs, and risks to determine the most suitable housing, programs, and services. The goal is to enhance safety and security within the facilities, support effective rehabilitation, and prepare inmates for successful reentry into society. Through careful and consistent classification practices, Classification Management aims to contribute to the overall mission of the department in maintaining public safety and promoting positive outcomes for offenders. This position is not a Telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves. Job Duties: Handle a busy multi-line phone system with ease and professionalism. Respond to general phone records requests quickly and accurately. Keep track of written record requests, searches, and subpoenas to ensure nothing gets missed. Perform thorough document searches to respond to both written and phone requests. Assist the Correctional Service Assistant Consultant in auditing full Penitentiary Packets requests by criminal justice agencies, making sure everything is in order. Benefits: OPS employees who work an average of 30 hours or more per week are eligible to enroll in state group insurance plans. You contribute 7.5% of your compensation to this tax deferred plan. All OPS employees are required to participate in this plan and are automatically enrolled. Requirements: Two (2) years of working with confidential information. Two (2) years of experience working with records. Two (2) years of experience with Microsoft Office Application/Suite.
