Maintenance Technician

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for running electrical lines, troubleshooting control circuits and photo eyes, and ensuring the smooth operation of conveyors and packaging equipment. Additional equipment includes boilers, compressors, ovens, and potentially ammonia refrigeration/outside utilities. Common tasks include replacing chains, bearings, and belts, as well as performing preventative maintenance on machinery. Responsibilities

Run electrical lines and troubleshoot control circuits and photo eyes. Perform maintenance on conveyors, packaging equipment, boilers, compressors, and ovens. Handle tasks on ammonia refrigeration and outside utilities as needed. Replace chains, bearings, and belts. Conduct preventative maintenance, including checking belts, chains, and electrical cabinets, and greasing machinery. Essential Skills

Troubleshooting and maintenance technician expertise. Mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repair skills. Preventive maintenance experience. Ability to read and work with schematics and blueprints. Welding skills and experience with three-phase systems. Maintenance repair skills, especially with conveyors and motors. HVAC, electrical troubleshooting, and maintenance proficiency. Experience with plumbing, pipe threading, and pulling wire. Hydraulic experience. Mechanical maintenance expertise, including understanding different chain/belt sizes, changing bearings, motors, and pumps. VFD experience. Electrical troubleshooting skills, including reading schematics and understanding basic start/stop circuits. Experience running electrical wire. Millwright experience. At least 3 years of employment with the same company. Willingness to work weekends. Why Work Here?

The work environment is within a duck processing and packing facility. Temperatures are kept at 70 degrees or less. The South Plant involves live duck processing in a wet environment, while the Servitude Plant operates as an industrial kitchen for further meat processing and packaging. The third shift hours are from 9:30 PM to 7 AM or 10 PM to 7 AM, depending on the facility. Overtime is mandatory, with an expectation of 50-60 hour work weeks. On-call rotation occurs weekly, starting on Thursdays. PPE includes hair nets, beard nets if needed, smocks, and waterproof nonslip steel-toed shoes. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milford, Indiana. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
