Forklift Operator

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Forklift Operator to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will operate forklifts and material handling equipment to load, unload, move, and stack goods, ensuring efficient shipment processing, storage, and inventory control per freight forwarding procedures and international logistics standards. Responsibilities

Operate forklifts to handle freight and cargo efficiently and safely. Load and unload trucks and trailers according to freight forwarding schedules. Manage inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring proper sorting, labeling, and documentation. Assist with cargo consolidation, palletizing, shrink-wrapping, and preparing shipments for export or import. Keep the warehouse organized by storing freight in assigned areas. Perform regular forklift inspections and document any mechanical problems or safety concerns. Help with cycle counts and inventory checks as needed. Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and industry regulations (OSHA, TSA). Collaborate with warehouse staff, freight coordinators, and supervisors to meet operational timelines. Use warehouse management systems (WMS) and handheld scanners for data entry and tracking. Essential Skills

13 years of experience in warehouse or logistics, preferably in freight forwarding or international shipping. Ability to handle different types of freight, including hazardous or temperature-sensitive goods (preferred). Knowledge of warehouse equipment and safety protocols. Basic computer skills and experience with WMS or inventory software are preferred. Physical stamina to lift and move heavy items quickly in a fast-paced setting. Work in a very large and clean facility near O'Hare, featuring a supportive environment with lots of big fans and K-9s on site. The facility complies with TSA onboarding and aims to double its workforce of 400 employees by the end of the year. Please note that phones, food, or playing music are not permitted while working. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bensenville, Illinois. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
