Description Summary The Senior Desktop Support Specialist provides Tier 2, and 3 technical support needs to end users across a variety of platforms and devices, as well as supporting junior administration infrastructure systems. The Specialist will have strong troubleshooting skills with both hardware and software, system configuration expertise, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, highly organized, and capable of resolving issues efficiently to minimize downtime and support business operations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Under general supervision, must be able to perform a variety of job duties, including, but not limited to: Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for Windows 11 desktops, laptops, and peripheral devices. Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and application issues across on-site and remote users. Manage and deploy Windows updates, patches, and endpoint protection. Handle onboarding/offboarding processes, including workstation setup, account provisioning, and access management. Maintain hardware inventory and support lifecycle management of desktop and laptop systems. Assist in administering Windows Server 2016/2019 . Perform user and group management within Active Directory and Office 365. Support and maintain VMware ESXi environments. Assist in managing Cisco and SonicWall firewall appliances for VPN and network security. Support server and desktop infrastructure built on Dell hardware platforms. Collaborate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver IT solutions and manage small-to-medium scale projects from start to finish. Monitor logs and alerts, perform basic scripting/automation tasks, and support IT initiatives as needed. Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or in related fields or equivalent desired. Associate's degree in network and systems administration, or in related field or equivalent required with 3-5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of 3 years of computing support experience Familiarity with scripting (PowerShell), MDM tools (Intune preferred), and backup/disaster recovery solutions. Required Skills: Language: Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex business information. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and peers. Reasoning Ability : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Mathematical Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, & percentages. Strong analytical skills with acute attention to detail. Presents numerical data effectively. Other Abilities: Must have Windows 11 and Windows Server environment experience. Must have previous hands-on experience with infrastructure systems. Must have knowledge of using and troubleshooting Microsoft Office applications. Must have knowledge of troubleshooting computer related issues with both hardware and software, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. Must be able to troubleshoot network and local printer issues. Must have knowledge utilizing a Help Desk ticketing system. Must have knowledge on remote access. Must have previous desktop support experience and direct system administration. Must be knowledgeable on Windows Server administration, including Active Directory and Group Policy. Must have experience with VMware ESXi, Cisco switches and SonicWall firewall appliance, and Dell server/desktop hardware. Must understand networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP). Physical Demands/ Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to stand and sit 6 to 8 hours a day. Must be able to work with their hands, arms and be extremely accurate. Must be able to walk, sit, stoop, or kneel on a regular basis. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds on an occasional basis. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving high-speed machinery and mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. outside weather conditions, machine oils, metal fillings, acetone, paints, solvents, grease, cutting fluids, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock or vibration.
