What The Role Entails
The Electrical Design Manager will collaborate with CHQ Development and third-party engineering teams to develop electrical system designs for data centers across the Americas, focusing on cutting-edge technology and sustainability.
This individual must have a thorough understanding of Electrical Systems supporting Critical Environments and related mechanical systems. They will work with partners, customers, and vendors to develop tailored solutions, manage growth plans, and implement solutions for current and future data centers across North America and LATAM. Responsibilities include coordinating electrical designs, supporting budgets, and supporting construction efforts, aiming to maximize efficiency and reliability.
This role involves contributing to company-wide developments, influencing data center designs, and participating in all project phases from early planning to operations. It offers an exciting opportunity for an entrepreneurial individual with keen attention to engineering detail.
What You Will Get to Do
Anticipate business needs and develop contingency measures to deliver best-in-class data centers.
Lead concept design of electrical systems, focusing on sustainable, low-energy solutions.
Manage third-party consultants to develop detailed electrical designs, challenging them to improve standards.
Assist customers in delivering solutions into CloudHQ data centers.
Support during procurement, reviewing work for compliance and value.
Collaborate with Operations to meet design standards and best practices.
Research innovative solutions and stay engaged with market leaders.
Work cross-functionally with Construction, Procurement, Operations, and other teams.
Ensure standards are consistent across global developments.
Promote CloudHQ's design philosophies, such as reliability, safety, and sustainability.
Educate the public on sustainable design features and environmental benefits.
Present projects to local authorities and stakeholders.
Contribute to master planning and investment reviews.
Requirements:
What You Bring to The Role
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience leading teams, projects, or programs.
Experience in electrical engineering and project management.
Proven experience in data center electrical and controls design.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
Effective cross-functional collaboration and independent work skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to interface with clients.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and apply organizational values.
Focus on continuous improvement and future-oriented thinking.
Leadership qualities, stakeholder influence, and strategic thinking skills.
Ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
Proficiency in analyzing management data for decision-making.
