Job Description As part of the Auberge family, we are looking for a dynamic facilities leader who can manage budgets and capital funds, oversee expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation, while maintaining the highest standards of luxury finishes, timely remediations, and regulatory compliance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Engineering Operations & Systems Supervise the performance, operations, and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, fire life safety, lighting, power, and other critical systems of the property. Review financial reports and statements to assess engineering performance against the annual budget. Make ongoing recommendations for efficiencies, cost savings, and operational improvements. Understand the impact of department operations on overall property financial goals; educate staff accordingly. Establish and implement safety procedures, including life safety manuals, business continuity plans, and emergency protocols. Building Maintenance Develop an engineering operating strategy aligned with the property’s business strategy. Maintain knowledge of fire systems, water systems, septic, onsite water treatment, irrigation, and temporary power systems. Oversee projects related to property enhancement, including planning, administration, and evaluation of financial results. Preventive Maintenance Implement and monitor an effective preventative maintenance system to ensure proper environmental conditions. Schedule ongoing preventive maintenance for equipment, systems, and public areas. Conduct inspections, troubleshooting, supervision, and repairs across the property. Maintain disaster preparedness through risk identification, response planning, and crisis management. Respond promptly to emergency situations. Third Party Vendors Monitor and supervise subcontractors when external work is necessary. Assess repair needs and estimate repair times, including evaluating the need for professional assistance. Manage service contracts supporting property needs. Administration Complete administrative tasks such as reporting, budgeting, and project management promptly. Prepare capital requests for approval and implementation. Ensure licenses, permits, and certifications are current. Administer property policies consistently. Ensure timely completion of work tickets. Educate team members on preventive maintenance and equipment use. Maintain departmental standards and cross-train staff to enhance skills. Manage performance, including counseling and disciplinary actions as needed. Oversee scheduling, labor reports, work orders, and payroll management.
Qualifications Certified in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred, with proven experience in plumbing, HVAC, electric, spa and pool utilities, and carpentry. Minimum of ten years’ operating experience in a hotel or residential engineering department, with preferred experience at an executive level. Familiarity with the operations and priorities of all hotel departments. Experience in maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations at state and federal levels.
