Baystate Health is a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system in western Massachusetts which consists of an academic medical center, Baystate Children’s Hospital, three community hospitals and the region’s largest multispecialty group. Our flagship hospital, Baystate Medical Center, is home to the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School-Baystate.
EMERGENCY MEDICINE HIGHLIGHTS: • Our Department of EM consists of 40+ attendings, 30+ APPs, residents, fellows, medical students, and support teams across academic and community EDs in our integrated health system. • Craft your ideal position- 100% academic, 100% community, or a blend. • Baystate Medical Center (BMC) in Springfield MA is home to one of the busiest EDs in Massachusetts and the east coast. We serve over 122,000 adult and pediatric patients annually. Our 72,000 square foot ED is equipped with 94 private rooms, separate pediatric ED, separate behavioral health rooms and top-of-the-line technology. • Our community EDs in Palmer, Westfield and Greenfield MA each care for >33,000 patients annually with strong subspecialty support onsite and at nearby BMC. APPs run fast tracks. • Academic positions include a faculty appointment at UMass-Chan Baystate and strong involvement with our 48 residents as well as fellows in pediatric emergency medicine, research, wilderness medicine, administration, medical education, EMS, health equity, wellness, and ultrasound. • Strong support for clinical and health services research plus state-of-the-art simulation programs. • Qualifications: ABMS BE or BC Emergency Medicine, fellowship desired for academic positions.
