About the Position
This credit analyst will be tasked with being an expert in a variety of financial products and principles of the private sector with limited guidance from supervisors. The Senior Credit Risk Analyst serves as the senior credit risk analyst for financial transactions. The incumbent is responsible for conducting or assisting with credit risk assessments for proposed projects. Additionally, the incumbent assists and/or leads research and report preparation on economic and political environments in foreign countries, reviews new financing applications, drafts approval papers, and executes other related functions. The consultant will be stationed in Washington, DC.
Responsibilities
Conduct credit review, analysis, and processing (80%)
Gather and review due diligence documents from clients, providing feedback to origination officers.
Spread financial statements from partners, borrowers, and sponsors, or prepare requests to the Credit Policy group for spreading.
Assist or lead in preparing financing approval papers, ensuring proper data formatting.
Review new financing applications, identify parties requiring Character Risk Due Diligence (CRDD), and summarize conclusions. Travel as necessary to support transactions.
Conduct country and sector-specific research (20%)
Research and summarize economic and political environments in foreign countries where projects are located.
Research and summarize industrial sectors relevant to proposed projects.
Conduct research and write MTU Market Assessments.
Prepare Country Due Diligence briefing materials for overseas trips.
Qualifications
Engage in complex credit risk assessment and transaction structuring, requiring expertise and judgment.
Experience in credit review, analysis, and processing.
Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
Experience structuring MTU guarantees and transactions aligned with DFC's priorities.
Assess credit risk and other facets for transactions deploying partial credit guarantees and DFC tools.
Evaluate financial markets and private sector development, identifying opportunities in targeted regions.
Prepare and present screening memos, credit papers, and investment proposals to DFC committees.
Provide training on credit risk and DFC credit methods.
Perform other duties as required.
