Position Description The University of California, Berkeley seeks applicants for one open-rank faculty position (assistant, associate, or full professor) in “Climate Equity and Environmental Justice,” with an intended start date of July 1, 2026. Successful candidates will be appointed to one or more of the following departments: Human-induced climate change is transforming our world, with disproportionate impacts on vulnerable and marginalized groups. Migration due to sea level rise, wildfire, and drought, along with other factors, has increased. There is an urgent need to study the socioeconomic, political, and health effects of climate change and its impact on democracy and inequality. This search aims to expand UC Berkeley’s multidisciplinary research community in areas such as: – Food security and sovereignty – Natural resource access – Biodiversity loss – Energy and water access – Environmental quality – Human health – Governance, design, infrastructure, housing, and policy UC Berkeley supports dual career couples, single parents, and candidates with non-traditional career paths.
