Principal Engineer of Connectivity Hardware

to lead the development of in-vehicle connectivity systems, with a strong focus on in-house design and technical ownership. This role is responsible for the design and delivery of telematics modules, antennas, digital key access, and other wireless technologies. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise with a strong track record in leading in-house hardware development across electrical, mechanical, and wireless domains. This is a highly collaborative role that partners closely with software, validation, manufacturing, purchasing, and vehicle teams to ensure performance, scalability, and seamless integration. What You'll Do: Strategic Planning: Define the long-term vision and roadmap for in-vehicle connectivity hardware, aligning development with overall product and platform strategies. Guide evolution of network infrastructure architecture and technology upgrades.

Hardware Design & Development: Lead the design and development of connectivity hardware, including component selection, system architecture, schematics, and PCB layout. Oversee the full development cycle from concept through production.

Connectivity Technology Expertise: Bring deep knowledge of wireless technologies such as 5G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, BLE, UWB, and NFC. Experience with IoT devices, embedded systems, edge computing, and wireless protocols is highly valued. Strong understanding of RF and antenna fundamentals is essential.

System Integration: Partner with software, mechanical, and vehicle integration teams to ensure seamless integration of connectivity hardware within the broader vehicle architecture.

Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test plans to validate hardware performance and reliability. Ensure compliance with relevant industry and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO/IEC, CE, FCC).

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, systems engineers, and potentially external design partners to align goals, manage interfaces, and ensure timely delivery.

Technology Scouting: Stay current on emerging technologies in hardware and connectivity. Identify trends that could shape future product strategies or create competitive advantages.
