a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an IT Architectural Engineering Services (Cyber Network & Systems Security SME V) support KDS and our government customer at Joint Base San Antonio, TX. This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.
This position is for a Future New Business Opportunity. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to: Provides expert-level leadership and strategic direction in IT architectural engineering and cybersecurity for the Defense Health Agency's network infrastructure. Serves as the principal authority responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the overall IT and security architecture across DHA's global network. Leads the development and evolution of DHA's enterprise IT and security architecture, ensuring alignment with DoD cybersecurity requirements, RMF, NIST guidelines, and DoD strategies including Zero Trust, ICAM, Digital Modernization, and Cybersecurity Reference Architecture. Oversees the implementation of these architectures across numerous end-user devices, servers, and sites worldwide. Designs and implements advanced security solutions, including next-generation firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, SIEM platforms, and zero trust architectures. Ensures integration of these solutions within DHA's IT ecosystem. Leads modernization and security initiatives such as cloud migration, SDN, and data protection. Develops architectural roadmaps balancing security, performance, scalability, and cost. Provides strategic cybersecurity guidance to DHA leadership. Collaborates with stakeholders to align architecture with organizational goals and secure resources. Leads teams to develop security frameworks addressing DHA's healthcare IT challenges, including medical device security and patient data protection. Develops and enforces security standards, policies, and procedures across all domains. Conducts security assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability management. Provides insights on security posture and manages remediation strategies. Integrates security into the systems development lifecycle and promotes DevSecOps practices. Ensures architecture decisions support DHA's mission, interoperability, compliance, and scalability. Represents DHA in cybersecurity forums and liaises with DoD authorities. Mentors future IT architects and cybersecurity leaders. Stays updated on emerging technologies and pilots innovative solutions.
Education: Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; Ph.D. preferred. Advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, TOGAF, SABSA) required. Expert certifications in relevant technologies are highly desirable.
Experience: 15+ years in IT architecture and cybersecurity, with 10+ in senior leadership roles. Proven record in large, complex environments, preferably within DoD or healthcare sectors. Experience in strategic planning, risk management, and IT transformation.
