Position Summary... Our team is shaping Walmart’s next-gen cloud intelligence platform, blending AI with large-scale infrastructure. Principal engineers play a key role in setting vision, influencing adoption, and mentoring teams across the organization. As a Principal MLE, you will lead the architecture and strategy of agentic AI platforms and AI-driven operations, guiding teams to deliver resilient, scalable systems that transform how Walmart operates its cloud and developer platforms. Architect and build

agentic AI platforms and applications

enabling autonomous execution and orchestration. Drive

AI-powered observability and operations

at enterprise scale. Define

technical roadmaps

for integrating LLM services with core infrastructure. Mentor engineers, set standards, and guide cross-team initiatives. What you'll bring

Advanced expertise in

Python

(Go secondary) and distributed systems. Deep knowledge of

LLMs, agentic frameworks, and orchestration patterns . Proven experience with

One.Walmart . The annual salary range is $143,000 - $286,000, with potential bonuses and stock options. Minimum Qualifications

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering, or related field plus 5 years’ experience in software engineering. Option 2: 7 years’ experience in software engineering. Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in CS, engineering, or related field plus 3 years’ experience, and a background in creating accessible digital experiences aligned with WCAG 2.2 AA standards and assistive technologies. Primary Location
