The SEA Investment Strategy & Ops team uses data-driven insights and analysis, industry best practices, and strategic planning to develop new product and solution concepts to sell out in retail. Bringing new ideas and innovations to market, we work directly with key groups within SEA and external channel partners to get Samsung products into users’ hands.
The Manager, MDF Management & Strategy will lead division-level marketing budget management, and influence financial strategy with ROI-based prioritization and recommendations. This role will work closely cross-organizationally across all teams at SEA, particularly with product management, marketing, sales, and internal business planning teams.
Role and Responsibilities Analyze and evaluate marketing programs and develop & recommend improvements by team based on product growth plan, profit and ROI/KPI analysis, historical performance data, and company strategic initiatives Work with cross-functional teams to plan marketing and promotion spend allocation to validate ROI and alignment with company and strategic goals Institute improvements for MDF management across the organization, including data housing, communication, and variance management Communicates process changes for MDF management, guidance from leadership and Suwon Office with SEA overall MDF % and communicates MDF budget amount to each team Lead the target plan meetings with MDF stakeholders to ensure the programs are align to company’s goals Consolidate bottoms-up MDF forecasts for both monthly target planning and annual management planning by account by category Create and allocate overall SEA MX MDF budget, provides team and category budget recommendations to review final forecast with MDF management and product management Analyze historical marketing programs performance to identify areas of improvement and innovation Prepare and deliver regular data-driven insights of marketing programs to the internal stakeholders Manage and publish daily, bi-weekly, and monthly MDF reporting, budget status, forecast accuracy, financial metrics by category, and channel spend analysis Analyze strategic initiative programs based on profit and ROI analysis and provide recommendations to leadership Skills and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field and 6+ of progressive experience Very strong business analytical skills, financial acumen, budget management know-how required A proven self-starter and a highly motivated individual with a strong ability to aggregate and consolidate from disparate data sources not readily available or stored Experience with managing and tracking budget Experience with developing financial and operational analysis and presenting information to management Strong financial and general accounting knowledge Strong PowerPoint skills, familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems Preferred Qualifications Bilingual (English, Korean) Strong Excel skills Background in marketing finance or marketing with FP&A experience #LI-HM1 Life @ Samsung -
