Under the general direction of the Project and Program Supervisor, the analyst will be part of a team of energy professionals and will use analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex regulatory problems. Specifically, the analyst will lead the implementation of zonal decarbonization efforts mandated pursuant to SB 1221 (Min, 2024). This is a senior-level analyst position involving regulatory oversight for large energy programs, collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, development of technical research, oversight of evaluation studies, leading meetings, providing presentations, and supporting the state's goals of addressing climate change through building electrification. The California Public Utilities Commission is a leading agency working to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainability in California. The Building Decarbonization Section aims to decarbonize California's residences and workplaces by transitioning to buildings and appliances powered by clean electric generation. Your STD 678 (application form) will be used to determine your qualifications to meet the minimum requirements. Please clearly describe all relevant experience related to public utilities and/or transportation in economics, finance, or policy, including the years and months of service, in the job description fields of your STD 678 form.
