Aircraft Structures Technicians
in Nashville, Tennessee. In this role, you'll perform structural repairs and fabrication of aircraft parts, ensuring compliance with FAA standards and delivering safe, airworthy results. Position Summary Perform structural repairs and fabrication of parts with the ability to follow SRM instructions and/or engineering dispositions. Duties & Responsibilities Follow approved repair and modification procedures for components or aircraft, consulting FAA-approved procedures, OEM technical data, and work package instructions
Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures using measuring instruments, blueprint lines, and index points
Inspect completed work to identify any needed rework before sign off; ensure all repairs meet prescribed standards and tolerances
Perform serviceability tests on repairs using test equipment outlined in technical manuals
Complete work package documentation by signing/stamping off after finishing all designated operations
Submit completed work to Quality Assurance for final inspection and re-certification of airworthiness
Fasten, support, or hang components and subassemblies using bolts, screws, or rivets
Cut, trim, and file parts; verify fitting tolerances before installation
Drill holes in structures and subassemblies; attach brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installation
Inspect and test installed units, parts, and equipment for compliance with performance and safety standards
Install units, parts, and components in structural assembly using hand and power tools
Locate and mark reference points for installation of parts using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments
Provide information and documentation for engineering requests
Comply with repair station procedures (RSM/QCM) and company policies (SOP) during all maintenance work
Qualifications Education High School Diploma / GED
A&P and/or structures experience preferred
Repairman's certificate may substitute for A&P
Experience Minimum of 5 years of experience preferred
Proven aircraft structures repair experience with the ability to use technical data and aircraft drawings to accomplish repairs
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Ability to fabricate parts and read work orders, blueprints, and specifications
Proficiency in the usage of air-powered hand tools and related equipment
Knowledge of machines, tools, raw materials, production processes, and quality control methods
Ability to work flexible hours and shifts as required
Strong understanding of FAA maintenance procedures and compliance requirements
Working Conditions / Special Requirements
Must adhere to OSHA, EPA, State, and Federal regulations at all times
Must be able to wear a respirator as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134 with no restrictions
Ability to work flexible hours and shifts
Subject to FAA-mandated random drug and alcohol testing
Must hold a valid driver's license
Must be able to work indoors/outdoors in varying conditions
Physical requirements include:
Lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
Work above head level
Work at heights and in confined spaces
Climb as needed
