Job Description:

The Bunker Hill Community College Performing Arts Department is seeking a dedicated and experienced Scenic & Props Supervisor for Fall 2025. The successful candidate will play a vital role in developing the scenic aspects of a small-scale department production, and provide support for the end-of-semester scene showcase. The BHCC Theatre Program produces actor-focused productions and strives to support this work with technical elements that are limited in scope but elevate the experience for all.

Primary Responsibilities:

Collaborate with Production Manager and Director to develop and execute scenic vision for a black-box production. Schedule and supervise student tech crew involvement. Maintain and oversee scene shop and technical equipment rental. Purchase/order building materials and manage a limited budget. Oversee load-in/strike/technical rehearsals to ensure the safety of everyone working on productions. Important Dates: 1) Weekly drop-in student build hours during 9/15-10/29/2025, scheduled according to availability, 2) Tech rehearsal: 10/31-11/5/2025, 3) Strike: 11/10/2025.

Requirements:

BA/BFA in Theatre, or a related field. Plus, significant professional experience in scenic and props work. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to teach and mentor students in a diverse and collaborative academic environment. Knowledge of industry safety standards and best practices.

Additional Information:

Salary: $2,380.00 for the duration of assignment. Stipend will be paid in installments. Part-Time Non-Benefited Position

Estimated time frame of assignment: September 2, 2025 to November 11, 2025

Estimated Hours: will vary but are expected to range from 65 to 80 hours
