Senior Mobile Engineer

We are seeking a Sr. Software Engineer with expertise in mobile application development to support the design and delivery of innovative software solutions in the medical device industry. This role will be instrumental in developing cross-platform mobile applications that interface with medical devices, support clinicians and patients, and comply with strict regulatory and quality standards. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams—including systems engineering, quality, clinical, and product management—to ensure mobile applications are safe, reliable, and effective in supporting patient care. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and testing of cross-platform mobile applications (iOS & Android) using Xamarin Collaborate with systems and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration with connected medical devices. Develop software in compliance with IEC 62304, ISO 13485, and FDA/CE regulatory requirements. Architect mobile solutions with emphasis on scalability, data integrity, cybersecurity, and patient safety. Write and maintain technical documentation (design history files, risk analyses, test protocols, traceability matrices) to support regulatory submissions. Participate in code reviews, design reviews, and risk assessments. Mentor junior engineers and champion best practices in software quality, testing, and design control. Stay current with mobile development trends, healthcare data privacy regulations (HIPAA, GDPR), and evolving standards in digital health. Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline. 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 3+ years developing mobile apps with Xamarin. Strong knowledge of C#, .NET, and MVVM design patterns. Experience with connected devices (Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-Fi, or USB). Familiarity with regulated software development (IEC 62304, ISO 13485, FDA/CE regulations). Experience with RESTful APIs, cloud-based platforms, and secure data storage solutions. Proven ability to work in cross-functional, regulated environments where documentation and traceability are critical. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment. Preferred Experience Knowledge of Xamarin is highly desired Experience with cybersecurity standards for medical devices (e.g., FDA Cybersecurity Guidance, ISO/IEC 27001).
