The oil and gas industry faces unprecedented challenges due to volatile energy prices, geopolitical shifts, supply/demand imbalances, and the energy transition. This creates opportunities to pivot to long-term strategies that address these challenges, including optimizing supply and modernizing technology to support energy transition. We are building an energy trading team to help clients optimize supply and navigate this transition. You will leverage your experience in mature energy markets to shape our strategy, offerings, and transformation delivery, working with energy leaders across EY practices. This is a high-profile role involving collaboration with various stakeholders. Your Key Responsibilities
Define and document trading process design for front, middle, and back-office operations. Implement and optimize energy trading organizational models. Conduct benchmarking, surveys, and market scans for emerging technologies and opportunities. Assess vendors, perform fit/gap analyses. Align cross-region and cross-product trading processes and technologies. Identify new business opportunities leveraging energy trading experience. Gather functional requirements across trading, risk, accounting, logistics, and scheduling. Collaborate with business, technical, and vendor teams. Understand capital adequacy, liquidity, and treasury aspects of energy trading. Develop functional and technical roadmaps for energy trading. Formulate growth strategies and market entry plans. Set visions for commodity management and new energy strategies. Business Development
Support EY’s growth in the Oil and Gas sector by developing team capabilities, thought leadership, go-to-market strategies, and solution materials. Play a key role in sales and delivery processes. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, finance, or related field, with ~8 years of experience. 5-8 years in oil and gas trading, especially front office. Experience with ETRM systems and energy commodities trading. Knowledge of transaction lifecycle for physical and financial commodities. Ability to liaise between business, tech, and vendors. Strategic thinking and solution development skills. Market awareness and solution implementation experience. Strong collaboration, communication, and leadership skills. Willingness to travel up to 60%. Preferred Qualifications
Prior oil and gas experience. Experience with multiple technology platforms, including SAP, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud. Technical skills in solution design, architecture, and languages like SQL, Python. What We Offer
