Responsibilities Considered a recognized authority within the company. Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Performs independent high-level design of enterprise application systems. Establishes the basic structure of the system, defines essential core design features and elements that provide the framework. Works in the identification and resolution of problems and concerns for complex projects. Performs cost-benefit analyses to determine whether requirements are best met by manual, software, or hardware functions. Generates a set of acceptance test requirements for complex systems, together with the designers, test engineers, and the user to determine that all of the high level requirements have been met, especially for the computer-human-interface. May participate in business development activities.
Qualifications
BS 10-12, MS 8-10, PhD 5-7
Must possess and maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI
Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline
5+ years of experience working on a large software system architecture
3+ years of experience systems engineering
2+ years of experience test engineering
Experience with conducting or supporting space system Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and System Verification Reviews (SVRs)
Experience communicating technical concepts to users, leaders, and engineers
Knowledge designing, performing, and managing automated software testing
Knowledge of DevSecOps and agile software development
Highly motivated and dynamic work ethic with a strong desire to contribute to the DoD mission
Ability to construct systems-engineering deliverables independently with data from various sources
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

10+ years of experience working on a space-related (space, ground, software, hardware system) Major Defense Acquisition Program
5+ years of experience systems engineering
Experience mapping system requirements to physical and functional architecture and conducting configuration management of system configurationsExperience with the development of technical specifications, interface control documents, integration plans and schedules, inter-service support agreements, system behavior diagrams, sequence diagrams, and network diagrams
Experience with large enterprise systems for operational scheduling
Experience with high complexity data systems and data management
Experience with performing systems engineering, integration, and test on space systems
Experience creating documentation for mission partners and eliciting user feedback
Knowledge of Air Force ISP Guide, JCIDS Manual, CJCSI 5123.01G, DODI 8330.01, AFMAN 33—407 and DODAF
Knowledge of systems engineering standards, including IEEE 15288.1 and IEEE 15288.2
Experience managing system delivery through the security accreditation and risk management processes
Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word or other web-based collaboration tools
Experience managing technical schedules in Microsoft Project or similar
Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02
Ability to be self-motivated and work independently with a strong desire to contribute to the DoD mission
Ability to create and manage systems-engineering related tasking with minimal program management guidance
Master’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline
INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certifications (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP)
Equal Pay Act This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories. In addition, Arcfield invests in its employees beyond just compensation.
