As a Senior Business Systems Analyst specializing in NetSuite at Navan, you’ll serve as our primary expert and technical lead for our global NetSuite environment. You will function as the primary lead for highly visible ERP initiatives, owning projects from early stakeholder engagement through solution design, configuration, implementation, and post-deployment adoption. Your goal is to ensure Navan’s NetSuite ERP platform operates efficiently, securely, and through scalable automated processes closely aligned to business priorities.
In this role, you’ll leverage your extensive technical NetSuite knowledge, comprehensive understanding of accounting and finance processes, and strong analytical capabilities to translate stakeholder requirements into effective system-driven solutions. You will work collaboratively and cross-functionally with teams including Accounting, Tax, Procurement, Financial Operations, Revenue Operations, FP&A, and Engineering, proactively enhancing NetSuite’s capabilities, integrations, compliance, and security.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the primary lead on strategic NetSuite ERP initiatives—managing lifecycle stages from stakeholder requirements gathering, prioritization, scope definition and solution design, through to successful implementation and end-user adoption.
- Partner effectively with key stakeholders (Accounting, Tax, FinOps, Revenue Ops, QTC, Procurement, FP&A) to understand and translate complex business needs into scalable NetSuite solutions.
- Clearly define project scope, proactively document detailed requirements, and manage schedules and deliverables for major NetSuite-ERP enhancements.
- Document and ensure comprehensive records are maintained for system configurations, customizations, workflows, and integrations, supporting both internal and external compliance readiness.
- Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable integration patterns and automations, emphasizing segregation of duties, security controls, audit compliance (SOX, ITGC), and accurate data integrity.
- Collaborate closely with NetSuite architects, developers, integration engineers, and external consultants to address and resolve integration, scalability, and maintainability challenges.
- Administer and configure daily operations of NetSuite, including customization management, workflow design, user permissions, saved searches, dashboards, custom forms, fields, and reports.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues, data synchronization problems, and performance challenges.
- Collaborate closely with integration engineers and business stakeholders to monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve ongoing issues with integrations between NetSuite ERP and critical external systems, including Salesforce, ZIP Spend Management, FloQast, OneSource tax solutions, and Workato middleware.
- Lead and support NetSuite system upgrades, data migrations, sandbox testing, user acceptance tests, go-live activities, and ongoing continuous improvements.
- Ensure financial system integrity, compliance with SOX guidelines and internal IT General Controls (ITGC), and readiness for financial audits.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- 5+ years hands-on experience as a NetSuite Business Systems Analyst or NetSuite Administrator, demonstrating advanced NetSuite ERP configuration, customization, workflows, security management, and integrations.
- Proven experience designing, configuring, and managing comprehensive NetSuite environments (roles/permissions, SuiteFlow, SuiteAnalytics reporting, custom records and forms).
- Strong expertise supporting NetSuite integrations across essential financial platforms (Salesforce CRM, Workato middleware, ZIP Spend Management, FloQast, Avalara Tax Engine).
- Deep understanding of accounting processes and finance operations (Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report), with demonstrated knowledge of financial compliance (SOX, ITGC).
- Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis skills of complex ERP and integration issues.
- Strong communicator adept at translating technical ERP complexities into clear business solutions for stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven organizational skills to effectively manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Ability to create clear, detailed documentation on processes, system configurations, integrations, and reporting solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- NetSuite Administrator and/or SuiteFoundation certifications highly preferred.
- Familiarity with OneSource tax integrations or similar tax calculation platforms.
- Background in SaaS, fintech, or technology industries desirable.
- Exposure to SOX compliance, IT General Controls, and regulatory audit readiness.
- Track record implementing, designing, and managing complex tax logic in NetSuite.
