Leadership and Team Building
Recruit, train, and manage a skilled estimating team of more than 10 employees.
Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting professional growth and development within the team.
Estimating Process Implementation
Develop and implement standardized estimating processes to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across all projects.
Stay abreast of industry best practices and technological advancements to continuously enhance the estimating methodologies.
Project Oversight
Oversee the estimation process for specialized construction projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion of estimates for fully defined (conventional “Bid-Build” Projects) to conceptual (alternative procurement such as “Design-Build” Projects).
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather essential project information and requirements.
Work closely with executive leadership to develop bid strategies that align with company goals and maximize profitability.
Conduct risk assessments and develop contingency plans to address potential challenges identified during thorough review of plans, specifications, and contract documents.
Cost Analysis and Value Engineering
Ability to breakdown construction operations into a logical sequence of activities.
Conduct thorough cost analysis for various construction projects, identifying cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions.
Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
Maintains and communicates data on construction and material cost trends affecting project costs.
Quality Assurance
Implement rigorous quality assurance processes to validate the accuracy and reliability of estimates.
Conduct regular reviews of estimating team outputs, providing constructive feedback and guidance for both employee development and process improvement.
Engage with clients during the pre-bid phase to understand their requirements and expectations.
Collaborate with the business development team to prepare compelling and competitive proposals.
Market Analysis
Stay informed about market trends, industry benchmarks, and competitor strategies to ensure the company remains competitive in the bidding process.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in leading estimating teams for complex specialized construction projects.
In-depth knowledge of construction estimating processes, software, and industry standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
10+ years Horizontal Construction estimating experience
Master's Degree
A PE, CE, or CM certification
Experience estimating heavy civil infrastructure preferred.
Experience with estimating software (B2W preferred).
