Accounting & Tax Professionals located in Grimes, IA is expanding and seeking a Bookkeeper/Accountant. The successful candidate will ensure the best customer experience by accurately entering and categorizing transactions in the books of multiple clients across various industries and providing timely financial reports. Responsibilities:
  • Enter and categorize transactions into Accounting Software
  • Manage General Ledger accounts
  • Create/record journal entries
  • Reconcile bank, credit card and other accounts.
  • Setup and track Asset accounts
  • Record Loans, Notes payable, Depreciation
  • Track Equity accounts
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly Financial Statements
  • File Sales Tax returns with various State agencies
  • Assist other staff members with IRS and State tax audits.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Recognize and offer better and more efficient ways of performing your job and assisting clients in performing theirs.
  • Additional duties as needed
Qualifications:
  • 2+ years bookkeeping experience
  • AS Degree in Accounting or equivalent job experience
  • Experience handling multiple clients concurrently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to set priorities and complete tasks despite interruptions
  • Experience with Xero, Quickbooks Desktop, Quickbooks Online
  • Proficient with MS/Office.
