Accounting & Tax Professionals located in Grimes, IA is expanding and seeking a Bookkeeper/Accountant. The successful candidate will ensure the best customer experience by accurately entering and categorizing transactions in the books of multiple clients across various industries and providing timely financial reports. - Enter and categorize transactions into Accounting Software
- Manage General Ledger accounts
- Create/record journal entries
- Reconcile bank, credit card and other accounts.
- Setup and track Asset accounts
- Record Loans, Notes payable, Depreciation
- Track Equity accounts
- Prepare monthly and quarterly Financial Statements
- File Sales Tax returns with various State agencies
- Assist other staff members with IRS and State tax audits.
- Provide excellent customer service.
- Recognize and offer better and more efficient ways of performing your job and assisting clients in performing theirs.
- Additional duties as needed
- 2+ years bookkeeping experience
- AS Degree in Accounting or equivalent job experience
- Experience handling multiple clients concurrently
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
- Ability to set priorities and complete tasks despite interruptions
- Experience with Xero, Quickbooks Desktop, Quickbooks Online
- Proficient with MS/Office.
