BluePearl Pet Hospital in Rockville, MD is seeking a skilled Relief Veterinary Technician (license preferred) to join our exceptional Emergency + Critical Care team!
Pay:
$24.30 - $49.20 / hour
This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool.
BluePearl Pet Hospital offers an exciting, fast-paced role for Veterinary Technicians, allowing you to utilize and expand your skills while working alongside talented veterinary professionals.
Job Responsibilities: Induce, monitor, and recover anesthesia in patients, using anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Triage emergency cases upon arrival, including obtaining vitals such as temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure. Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning. Understand normal ranges of vital signs, including heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs, alerting Veterinarian to changes. Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR. Calculate medical math accurately (including CRIs) and administer medications via appropriate routes and durations. Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters in peripheral vessels proficiently. Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters. Mentor and train other team members. Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
