IT Business Analyst
A large manufacturing client is looking for an IT Business Analyst to join their team. As an IT Business Analyst, you will act as a liaison among stakeholders to understand the capabilities required to meet organizational goals and objectives, to document business needs, and to capture requirements and user stories in a way that can be easily leveraged for solution design, build, and implementation. You will ensure that the resulting developed solutions ultimately meet the business needs. Partnering with Process Owners, you will drive requirements that result in documented user stories which help the business areas prioritize work for sprints, and guide development teams on solution design. Key Responsibilities: Partners with business requesters to identify and scope high level needs in support of project initiation and business case development Partners with Solution Architects to develop cost / risk analyses for IT solution design concepts Provides guidance to business SMEs on project governance processes Partners with Project Managers and Product Owners to define the requirements elicitation and documentation plan for approved projects Leads the development of detailed Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and system Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) for approved projects including: Facilitating requirements elicitation sessions with the user community Developing and documenting use cases, etc. to demonstrate requirements Determining overall priorities for all requirements Communicates functional and non-functional requirements to the solution architect Partners with solution architect to ensure initial alignment between business requirements and IT solution design concepts, including supporting feasibility studies as appropriate Partners with Testing Analysts to ensure test plans are developed and executed in alignment with internal standards and external compliance requirements Ensures User Acceptance and Functional Testing is complete and confirms test results meet documented business needs Partners with the User Experience and Transition Communities of Practice to ensure training plans and materials support overall business requirements Skills and Requirements: Experienced IT Business Analyst Process mapping/modeling experience Root cause or problem analysis through discussions with users and coordination with internal support organization and/or vendors to resolve problems Analyzing business requirements and documenting the relationships between the components of the application system (i.e., end users, business processes, data, applications, and devices) Managing small-medium project and shepherd changes through IT change management process. 5+ years experience in one or more of the following): Manufacturing / shop floor systems Supply Chain, Product Mgt (part mgt, specs, BOMs) in the areas of material mgt, logistics, planning Sales Operations or E-Commerce Working in a GxP environment with knowledge of validation processes Lean facilitation experience (e.g. Kaizen) or VSM mapping experience (visualization null)
