As part of the CB Node team at Coinbase, you will engage directly with the blockchain while maintaining connections to traditional web systems. You will help manage the blockchain nodes connecting us to 55 different blockchains, supporting areas like CB Wallet, Retail, Insto, and Prime. Additionally, you will be involved in initiatives such as:
Blockchain Traffic Management to ensure seamless failover across multiple external providers
Maintaining data consistency and block freshness for critical internal services, including our wallets and indexers
Ensuring reliability and scalability across the blockchain platform stack
Exploring new technologies like decoupling blockchain node storage from compute resources
Developing a platform on top of existing nodes to minimize engineering effort and operational TOIL
We are looking for engineers who are not afraid to innovate and iterate. If you are excited about crypto and view challenges as opportunities to make an impact, you will fit right in. We're particularly interested in candidates who are adept at identifying inefficiencies and are empowered to streamline processes aggressively. Key Responsibilities: Upgrade blockchain nodes, implement automation to reduce TOIL and enhance service efficiency, and identify new automation opportunities to minimize manual tasks.
What We Value: A minimum of 2 years in software engineering experience.
Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining production services with an understanding of service-oriented architecture.
Proficiency in writing high-quality, well-tested code that meets customer needs.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Service Ownership
Experience in Automation and Process Improvement
Familiarity with Blockchain technologies

The target annual salary for this position ranges from $152,405 to $179,300 USD, depending on your location. Full-time offers from Coinbase include target bonuses, equity, and comprehensive benefits.
