Job Summary

We're looking for a Technical Business Analyst who can bridge two worlds: the precision of business and financial processes, and the fast-moving reality of technology and data. You'll act as a translator between our business teams and engineers - fluent enough in technical detail to shape APIs, data flows, and automation, but grounded enough in business needs to ensure technology delivers measurable value.

This role is critical as we mature into a scaled organization with stronger financial discipline, streamlined royalty operations, and smarter automation. You'll partner closely with Finance, Operations, A&R, and Engineering to design solutions that remove operational friction, automate whatever possible, and help the company scale. This role follows a hybrid work model, with regular in-office presence required at our Los Angeles office.

Responsibilities

Bridge Business and Technology Translate complex business needs into clear, technical requirements, user stories, and data contracts that engineering can deliver on

Map and Improve Processes Analyze current workflows in A&R, finance, royalties, rights management, and operations Design optimized processes that reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and scale with growth

Strengthen Financial Maturity Work with Finance and the Data & Analytics team to optimize financial processes - royalty reporting, revenue recognition, close cycles - ensuring we have the systems and data needed to operate as a scaled company

Enable Automation and Data Quality Identify opportuniNes for AI-driven automaNon and smarter business processes. Partner with Data & Analytics to improve data pipelines and systems interoperability

Support Change Management Document new processes, train business teams, and ensure adoption of new tools and ways of working

Other duties as assigned Qualifications

4+ years in a Business Analyst, Technical BA, or similar role Strong technical literacy, confident working with SQL, APIs, data models, and system integrations Experience mapping and redesigning complex processes and writing detailed requirements Clear communication skills - able to bridge the detail engineers need with clarity business leaders expect Background in the music or entertainment industry (royalties, rights management, content distribution) Experience with cloud data platforms (GCP, AWS, Snowflake) and scripNng (Python) Curious and experimental mindset - keen to test out new technologies (e.g., Replit, Lovable, etc.) Pay Scale

$95,000 - $120,000 per year The final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
