The GME-Charleston College of Medicine Database Specialist reports to the GME-Charleston IT Manager in support of GME-Charleston's missions and goals. The GME-Charleston COM Database Specialist person duties are as follows: Successful candidates will have a basic understanding of data warehousing and/or database concepts. Candidates will become the subject-matter expert on Electronic Residency Management Systems, including but not limited to: NRMP Match, SF Match, Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS), Thalamus, MedHub, E*Value, ACGME, and OurDay, or similar platforms. Candidates may also need to use electronic medical records data. Residency Management Systems Data Analyst: Responsible for maintaining all Electronic Residency Management Systems (ERMS) utilized by MUSC GME-Charleston to ensure data accuracy and completeness. This includes extracting, loading, updating, and reviewing data within the systems on a regular basis. (20%) Survey Platform Administrator: Facilitates the development of databases and data sets to support the information, evaluation, and decision-making needs of GME-Charleston and University departments. Analyzes database sets from external sources. Summarizes data to support decision-making regarding program outcomes and other correlative issues related to the mission of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). (20%) Data Analyst: Uses advanced Excel functions, structured query language (SQL), or other database platforms to manipulate data, implement database-driven solutions, and build applications. Provides summarized data to GME managers and DIO for review and use in institutional reports. Queries data for special projects and process improvement projects. (25%) Compliance Analyst: Utilizes all ERMS to monitor program performance, including compliance with relevant institutional policies and directives. Maintains confidentiality of all data and reports and seeks approval of the GME-Charleston IT Manager for distribution of any data. Provides summarized data to GME managers and DIO for review and use in institutional reports. (20%) Onboarding and Offboarding Assistant: Assists GME-Charleston IT Department with onboarding of all incoming residents and fellows. Uploads all incoming residents and fellows to ERMS. Maintains email distributions lists for GME-Charleston. Manages access rights to ERMS for users such as program coordinators and program directors. (10%) Other special projects and duties as assigned. (5%) Minimum Requirements: A bachelor's degree and two years relevant program experience.
