Senior Sap Abap Developer
We are seeking a senior SAP ABAP developer to join our dynamic SAP technical team, responsible for supporting and enhancing our SAP landscape across a variety of applications. This role will focus primarily on backend ABAP development, including the design, implementation, and optimization of custom ABAP code to support business processes. You will also incorporate Fiori/UI5 elements where needed to enhance user interfaces, collaborating with teams to translate requirements into robust, scalable backend solutions that drive efficiency in supply chain and financial operations. As a senior SAP ABAP developer, you will lead backend development efforts to build and enhance SAP applications, with a strong emphasis on ABAP programming for supply chain and financial processes. Your role will center on creating efficient backend logic, integrations, and optimizations, while integrating frontend Fiori/UI5 components as required. You will work closely with functional analysts, technical teams, and UX/UI designers to deliver high-performance solutions that align with business needs. ABAP and Backend Development: Write and maintain custom ABAP code, including reports, enhancements, function modules, and data retrieval mechanisms to support core SAP applications. Develop and configure OData services via SAP Gateway to expose backend data for integrations and frontend consumption. Implement backend logic for SAP applications, ensuring seamless data integration with ERP systems (e.g., SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA) using BAPI, IDocs, RFC, and RESTful APIs. Troubleshoot, optimize, and debug ABAP programs for performance, scalability, and reliability in production environments. Handle data migration, conversions, and backend integrations with third-party systems, leveraging tools like LSMW, BODS, and ABAP on HANA features such as CDS Views and AMDP. Required Skills & Qualifications: 8+ years of hands-on experience with SAP ABAP development, including custom reports, enhancements, function modules, and backend integrations. Strong expertise in ABAP programming (Reports, Enhancements, Function Modules, BAPI), with experience in OData services and SAP Gateway. Proven history of implementing backend solutions in SAP S/4HANA and ECC environments, including data retrieval and optimizations. Experience with debugging, performance tuning, and optimizing ABAP code for scalability and efficiency. Proficiency in integrations using BAPI, IDocs, RFC, JSON, and RESTful APIs. Familiarity with SAP Fiori/UI5 development to support backend integrations, including SAP Web IDE, SAP BAS, and Fiori design principles. Experience with SAP Fiori Launchpad configuration, user roles, and tile management as it relates to backend exposure. Expertise in SAP UI5, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 for basic frontend support of ABAP-driven applications. Strong understanding of SAP backend architectures and data management. Familiarity with SAP Cloud Platform (SCP) and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) for backend and Fiori development is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: SAP S/4HANA development experience, with a focus on ABAP backend features and optimizations. Experience with backend architecture in cloud-based SAP environments (e.g., SAP BTP), including Build Apps for ABAP. Certifications in SAP ABAP, SAP Fiori/UI5, or related SAP technologies are a plus. Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
