Principal Network Architect
We are looking for a Principal Network Architect to support our federal government customer. The Principal Network Architect will design secure, scalable, reliable, and low latency network architectures for the Government's cloud and on-premises environments, ensuring compliance with federal security standards such as NIST 800-53 and FISMA. The primary focus for this individual will be to support the following areas: Network Architecture and Design Security Architecture and Design Unified Communications Architecture and Design Audio/Visual Architecture and Design Cloud Architecture and Design Identity Management Architecture and Design DNS and LDAP Architecture and Design Active Directory Architecture and Design This is a hybrid remote position based in Suitland, Maryland, that will require some onsite work at the customer's location. This position is contingent on contract award. Responsibilities include: Providing high-level architectural expertise to managers and technical staff. Developing architectural products and deliverables for the enterprise and operational business lines. Developing a strategy for the system and the design infrastructure necessary to support that strategy. Advising on selection of technological purchases. Setting standards for the client/server relational database structure. Advising on the feasibility of potential future projects. Tracking current plans. Monitoring and reviewing the success of systems and ensuring efficiency and effectiveness. Required experience and skills include: Minimum 10 years of experience in network engineering and architecture design. Knowledge of NIST 800-53, FISMA, and federal security standards. Familiarity with Remedy, Cisco ACI, Palo Alto, AWS VPC, Azure Networking. Experience managing network architecture projects for a federal government agency. Knowledge of federal government network and security policies, data protection standards, and risk management practices, preferred. Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to pass required federal background screening/security check. U.S. citizenship required. Education and training: Bachelor's degree in information systems, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Professional certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP), Cisco Certified Internetwork Engineer (CCIE), Cisco Certified Architect (CCAR), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty, or similar certifications, highly desired. Physical requirements: Candidates must reside in or within commutable distance of Suitland, Maryland. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Pay Range: The projected annual salary range for this position is $140,000 - $160,000 USD.
