Surly Brewing Co is a growing beverage company committed to providing excellent service and high-quality products. We are currently seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our
second shift
team. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate inventory and ensuring timely shipments and deliveries. In 2024, we invested in state-of-the-art packaging and material handling equipment to meet the growing demand for our crafted beverages. This is a great opportunity for candidates with a background in packaging, manufacturing, logistics, or beverage production, especially those who thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on environment who bring accuracy, consistency, and a commitment to quality. You'll work alongside a collaborative team and play a critical role in supporting our shipping and receiving operations.
LOCATION:
This position will be located in Brooklyn Center at our original brewery
SHIFTS : The hours for the second shift position are
2pm - 10pm
SALARY:
Pay range is $21-22 /hr. plus our full benefit package (Health, Dental, Vision, Life, 401k, PTO etc.). $3.00 /hr. Shift Differential when applicable (hours worked after 8pm).
Essential Functions
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments Prepare and stage outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and condition of products Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment (training provided) Maintain accurate records of inventory movement and material flow Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards Collaborate with packaging and production teams to ensure timely flow of materials Support regular inventory counts and audits Knowledge Skills & Abilities
High School Diploma or GED Previous experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks throughout the shift Basic computer and inventory system knowledge Forklift certification preferred (or willingness to train) Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills Strong communication skills both written and verbal Why Surly?
