Mig Welder

The Mig Welder will be responsible for completing welding of prefabricated assemblies, setting up welding machines independently for any process or material thickness, and operating a variety of fabrication equipment such as plate rollers, saws, pipe rollers, and drill presses. This role requires the ability to fabricate and weld complex assemblies from blueprints.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete welding of prefabricated assemblies.
  • Set up welding machines independently for any process or material thickness.
  • Operate a variety of fabrication equipment including plate rollers, saws, pipe rollers, and drill presses.
  • Fabricate and weld complex assemblies from blueprints.
  • Read and interpret blueprints accurately.

Essential Skills:

  • 4+ years of welding experience.
  • Proficiency in MIG welding (GMAW) and Flux core welding (FCAW).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Experience with stainless steel fabrication.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of other fabrication equipment like plate rollers, saws, pipe rollers, and drill presses.
  • Ability to fabricate complex assemblies unassisted.

Work Environment:

Work in a non-climate controlled fabrication shop, which may get hot. The shop is equipped with newer welding and fabrication equipment. Normal Shift hours: 6am-2:30 Monday - Friday. During peak periods 6am-4:30pm plus Saturdays when needed.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
