Aerospace Cnc Machinist 2
PDS Defense, Inc. is seeking an Aerospace CNC Machinist 2 in Medley, FL.
Job Description:
Operates production machinery, sets equipment/machinery to required settings, monitors operation of machinery or equipment, and determines whether materials or products meet standards.
1. Machining Operations
- Perform fundamental machining operations, including drilling, milling, turning, and grinding.
- Set up machines and apply safety protocols in machining environments.
- Position, adjust, and secure stock material or workpieces against stops, on vices or in chucks, fixtures, or automatic feeding mechanisms, manually or using hoists.
- Select, install, and adjust alignment of drills, cutters, dies, guides, and holding devices, using templates, measuring instruments, and hand tools.
- Move controls or mount gears or templates in machines to set feed rates and cutting speeds, depths, and angles.
2. Precision Measurement and Tools
- Operate precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, high gage, edge finders and dial indicators.
- Accurately measure tolerances and perform part inspections.
- Set machine stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scales, rules, or templates.
- Compute basic data, such as gear dimensions or machine settings.
3. Print Reading and Computer-Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing
- Interpret blueprint symbols, abbreviations, and tolerancing standards.
- Apply basic Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to read and analyze shop prints.
- Navigate and utilize CAD software for basic design and drafting.
- Understand the fundamentals of CAM, including toolpath creation and simulation.
Minimum education requirement: HS Diploma. In the absence of a HS diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience is required.
Years of experience: 1 year (at least 4 years with no HS diploma/GED)
Citizenship Requirement: US Citizen or US Person (Green Card Holder)
Education requirement: High School diploma or general education degree (GED); one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
