PGS Worldwide is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support production operations for a leading aerospace and defense manufacturer. This role focuses on optimizing manufacturing processes, improving production layouts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, quality, and compliance across machining, material handling, and equipment installation.
This opportunity is perfect for an early-career engineer with a strong foundation in industrial or mechanical engineering and at least 1 year of hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement manufacturing processes and production layouts for equipment, machining, assembly, and materials flow.
  • Review and improve procedures for maximum efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
  • Work closely with quality teams to help incorporate inspection and test requirements into production planning.
  • Investigate and resolve equipment, tooling, and process issues to improve production uptime and product quality.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering teams regarding design for manufacturability.
  • Analyze machine performance and take corrective actions to resolve deficiencies or bottlenecks.
  • Ensure all manufacturing activities comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Drive or support continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering , or related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of industrial manufacturing experience (co-ops and internships may qualify).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-starter with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with engineering documentation and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Green Belt Certification or knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma principles .
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing industries.
